Tools With Heart is proud to introduce our journal writing
coach, Sue Meyn to our journalers!
Sue Meyn believes in Journal Power. The journal, she says,
is powerful because the user is powerful. The
journal simply reflects back to us that which we have written.
Each of us, Sue believes, has his or her own power, inner
resources and gifts, which Sue refers to as individual "magic."
Sue has been a counselor for over twenty years, helping
individuals and groups deal more effectively and in a more
satisfying manner, with their lives. About nine years ago
Sue began a shift toward teaching and specifically toward
teaching journal writing. An avid journal writer herself,
Sue was well aware of the benefits of such a discipline.
She encouraged many of her counseling clients to use journaling
to support themselves. Nothing brings her more pleasure
than seeing individuals discover their own inner magic.
JOURNAL POWER
by Sue Meyn
"It's my belief, and one shared by many, that we are,
indeed, entering a new age. Life is more complex, we have
many more choices, distractions and temptations set before
us. Now, more than ever, we need to enter into the 'chamber'
of ourselves to identify just what is needed/wanted as we
move ahead.
My emphasis is to help people integrate their spirit into
all aspects of their lives and to do this through journal
writing. We can no longer afford to allow ourselves to be
cut up into segments or compartments. We need to be complete
so we can truly enjoy a quality of life. With this approach,
journaling moves from an 'at home' activity to one that
travels with us to work, church, carpooling, the golf course
or tennis court and functions as a friend, confidant, counselor,
creative developer, prayer holder and plain old sounding
board.
